Deposits/Fees

Membership & Service Connect Fees
$20 is charged to the first bill on a new membership account with Crawford Electric. If your new service is a brand new meter location on our system, a service connect fee may apply. If you already have a membership account, the $20 charge is a meter deposit on your new account. Your membership fee/meter deposit will be applied to the final bill whenever that account is disconnected. The service connect fee is non-refundable.

Security Deposits
New accounts require either evidence of good credit history with Crawford Electric or a security deposit. Applicants acknowledge and agree that an independent consumer credit evaluation service may be used for the purpose of determining applicants' credit worthiness and recommending a service security deposit.

The security deposit varies from account to account because it is based on average monthly usage at a particular account. The minimum security deposit required (if applicable) is $100. The deposit can be refunded or applied to your account by your request, after you establish a year’s worth of good payment history. Members who pay their bills by the 15th of every month for at least 9 out of 12 months are considered to have good credit.
