Rates
Crawford Electric’s residential rate is based on two factors:
1) The basic "service availability" charge
2) The energy cost per kilowatt-hour of electricity used
The service availability charge is that part of the rate designed to cover the costs associated with having an active electric service. Such costs include transformer and power line maintenance, right-of-way work, billing, accounting and customer service. Even if no electricity is used, each active account must pay its fair share of these costs.
The energy charge represents the costs associated with generating and delivering electricity to your meter.
Effective with the May 1, 2009 billing statement:
Basic Service Availability Charge: $22/month
Residential Energy Charge: 7.7 cents per kwh
